In the world of transport, the railway industry is the sector which is having the fastest growth ever and perhaps this is precisely the reason why we have recently been carrying out many projects in this area which involve new plants or, as in this case, redevelopment of existing structures.
In fact, it is certainly from here that the need arose for a company that deals with industrial finishing for the railway sector, to make this particular change of use : from an old sandblasting cabin, now obsolete, to a new washing cabin.
The redevelopment of the existing building was total: if on the one hand the original masonry structure was maintained , it was internally covered with watertight insulated panels, but above all it was the underground area of the foundations that was completely revised.
The recovery of washing liquids
In fact, in relation to the change of intended use, it was necessary to create “chutes” from scratch, located under the grilled flooring , to allow the degreasing and rinsing liquids to flow quickly into the recovery pit.
In this way, the liquids collected in the pit are returned to the relevant recovery tank and made immediately available to be reused in a continuous cycle .
This solution, integrated with a 3-phase skid , allows each washing liquid to be recovered separately and filtered from impurities, in order to store the liquids or reuse them in a continuous cycle.
In this way there is no discharge into the sewer, providing benefits to the environment, management and disposal costs .
