We have recently installed, for an important Italian company in the sector of tipping truck body equipment, a manual Cartesian-type liquid painting system that combines the flexibility of manual systems with the speed of in-line systems.
On the other hand, when the company told us about its industrial mentality, we already had in mind the perfect painting system that could satisfy all needs.
The large manual painting system with automatic logic
The generous dimensions and the high weight of the tipper bodies of the trucks and the high production rate of the company made the choice towards an automatic system almost obvious which however did not meet the need for a flexible system which could adapt to the painting of pieces of these different sizes.
This is how this manual painting system with automatic logic was born. A manual Cartesian liquid painting system integrated with an advanced automatic piece transfer system.
A sort of “hybrid” that manages to guarantee management flexibility, compliance with energy savings, the management of high productivity and the optimization of the workforce.
The system supplied by Eurotherm
The system supplied by Eurotherm is equipped with:
- three pressurized liquid painting booths with drying function;
- automatic system for raising/lowering the boxes to be painted with anti-fall safety system;
- an overhead conveyor with a high load capacity;
- a pressurized paint booth capable of accommodating a full truck for finishing touches.
Despite being a manual painting plant, the overhead conveyor is completely automated: from the automatic lifting stations for loading and unloading the boxes it is in fact possible to transport the pieces to the various painting booths or to the parking areas via a PLC control panel.
The capacity of each 10 meter long platform is 10,000 kg each .
The only operations carried out by the staff are therefore:
- loading/unloading of pieces
- the manual liquid painting phase.
