Never before has the cost of energy been so central to production companies. It is plain for everyone to see how the considerable increases in energy costs of the recent months have also led to the closure of some productions. With such horizon in mind, Eurotherm looks to the business of tomorrow, always searching for innovative solutions that can help companies that are already structured, as well as smaller companies that have just started.
There are two assets we approach this issue with:
- The knowledge of the field and the continuous technological push towards innovative solutions;
- The pinpoint customisation of our systems, according to the needs of the companies that come to us.
Our innovative drive is easily explained: there can be no progress without renewal. And that is how in recent years we have pushed the accelerator on hybrid gas and electric ovens, newly developed painting systems, heat recuperators, inverters and consumption control systems that are integrated on the systems in a 4.0 perspective.
In addition to these technological measures, there is another fundamental aspect: understanding the company’s real needs. With an increasingly complicated energy market, an analysis of the company’s workings and production processes is a necessity.
It is only through the implementation of bespoke systems that we can guarantee significant energy savings at all stages, while maintaining, and indeed increasing, quality and production efficiency.
This is where our team comes into play, and the Engineering Department is responsible for analysing the energy balance of each individual processing step, downtime and understanding what the real needs are.
When a tailor-made curing oven means energy savings
We recently had the pleasure of working with two companies that asked us for the same thing: a curing oven for coatings that could offer optimum quality performance as well as low energy costs.
Although the request was the same – and leaving aside the technological details – we designed two conceptually similar solutions for them, yet customised for each company, each with its own requirements.
Baking oven with two separate chambers
In the first case, we created a special 12-metre long baking oven with a double-leaf inner door separating the baking chamber into two parts. Both chambers are equipped with a generator with a gas burner, making them completely independent.
The result? When processing workpieces under 6 metres long, the company can divide the chamber in two and use only one generator for firing the workpieces. The energy savings are considerable!
Polymerisation oven with outside gas burners
Once again, we created an oven with two separate chambers, but placed the two generators with gas burners outside the warehouse.
This customised solution, in addition to the advantages of the previous one, allowed the company to optimise the space inside the production facility.
Economic and environmental sustainability – a common goal
We have one belief here at Eurotherm: economic, environmental and social needs go hand in hand. Reducing environmental impact thus also means reducing consumption and the costs of production processes.
Painting systems are among the most energy-intensive production processes to achieve optimum performance, however taking action on energy consumption is possible, thus leading to making peace with company budgets while achieving a lower impact on the environment.
