70 years of experience, an extremely high level of quality, an entirely insourcing production chain and the ability to manage any commission of medium-heavy metal carpentry products: this is Decom srl.
With these premises, it is not surprising how the company is always looking for new machinery to improve and optimize work processes, so much so that it has chosen Eurotherm as a strategic partner for the construction of the new shot blasting booth.
The details of the shot blasting booth
- The new shot blasting booth made for Decom is equipped with:
- External filter unit
- Led illumination
- Abrasive recovery and regeneration system that powers 2 sandblasters at the same time
- 10,000 kg high-capacity abrasive containment silos.
- Industry 4.0 Ready
The shot blasting chamber is made up of pre-insulated, sound-absorbing panels.
The external filter unit is equipped with filter cartridges in 100% synthetic material, which allow great filtration efficiency.
The cabin is also equipped with a semi-automatic abrasive collection system which, by means of the abrasive media recovery hopper, allows to transport the recovered media to the bucket elevator, and to separate the waste from the reusable abrasive media and make it immediately available for reuse. continuously, minimizing waste.
The main control panel, supplied with the shot blasting cabin, integrates a touch-screen panel managed by PLC, connected to the customer’s Industry 4.0 system.
Large shot blasting booth for large companies
The dimensions of the shot blasting cabin are considerable: 20 meters long by 8 wide and 6.5 meters high, even though it is not the largest we have ever made, see: Sandblasting cabin for the railway sector.
Based on an idea that derives from Decom’s need to have ample room for manoeuvre to handle large objects and from the possibility of being able to place the cabin within the new 6.000 m2 production space.
A large blasting booth… For a large company!
Liquid painting area – Extraction from the floor with filter units
Adjacent to the shot blasting booth, we have set up a liquid painting area consisting of 3 external extraction units for extraction and filtration from the floor, each one connected to 3 channels for a total of 9 channels connected by the underground distribution of the channels for the intake and closed at the top by a drive-over air intake grating.
2 filtration stages are inserted under the grilled areas.
