We have recently installed two new manual powder coating systems. Different companies and different needs could only lead to… different plants!
Because this is precisely the heart of Eurotherm: being able to identify the optimal solution for each company that meets the quality, space and budget requirements. For these reasons, each project is always different.
Both customers work for third parties and for this reason they have opted for a manual type plant to be able to treat batches of different colours and of various sizes, but the similarities between the two plants end here because the characteristics of the companies and the needs that have proposed to the Eurotherm technicians.
The first manual powder coating plant
The requirement of the customer, a Sardinian company highly specialized in special metal treatments, was to have a plant capable of guaranteeing their mission: “to respond to the highest demands in terms of quality to satisfy the ever more pressing needs, of the agro-pastoral, construction, road, residential and zootechnical sectors”.
In this scenario, choosing a manual powder coating plant presents an approach that offers flexibility, precision and quality. The distinctive aspect of this plant is in fact the ability to obtain a highly professional level, capable of guaranteeing an anti-corrosion treatment.
This approach translates not only into greater uniformity of the treated piece, but also into the creation of a finished product that reflects the durability standards that the marine geographical area requires.
For this reason, the plant is equipped with a truly effective and even double pre-treatment system which involves sandblasting and alkaline degreasing. The utmost attention has in fact been given to obtaining an effective anti-corrosion pre-treatment capable of responding to the environmental conditions of Sardinia which include strong gusts of wind with a high content of salt in the air.
The manual powder coating plant created is composed of:
- Manual washing booth with a liquid recovery and reuse system without no discharge into the sewer.
- Shot blasting booth with localized recovery system for the abrasive media.
- Manual powder coating booth.
- Curing oven.
- Overhead conveyor with a motorized transfer system.
- Lifting station for lifting the pieces onto the line.
- Connections in industry 4.0 system with touch-screen PLC and remote assistance.
The second manual powder coating plant
The requirement of the customer, a company from Lazio specialized in the field of metal painting on behalf of third parties, was to have a system capable of operating on objects of any size in a short time to prepare the objects for painting or for application of special anti-corrosion products.
The pre-treatment in this case is decidedly different from the first: the single-phase ecojet tunnel sprays a liquid that encapsulates and stabilizes the oil and fat particles on the pieces, before painting. The treatment is much faster as it is automatic (and has no liquids to be disposed of or other waste materials), consequently, it responds to less pressing needs in terms of anti-corrosion.
The manual powder coating plant created is composed of:
- Ecojet pre-treatment tunnel (without any building work).
- Manual powder coating booth.
- Curing oven.
- Overhead conveyor with manual transfer.
- Lifting station for lifting the pieces onto the line.
- Connections in industry 4.0 system with touch-screen PLC and remote assistance.
