For an important multinational, we have recently installed a new automatic rotational painting line.
The plant largely mirrors the painting line already designed by Eurotherm and in use by the customer since 2012 in the Italian factory. If the first painting line serves the European market, the new line has been installed for the needs of the American market, but what fills us with pride is seeing how the customer has decided to renew his trust in us by commissioning a completely similar system. We have already talked about it: when a system is done, it is measured, it is difficult to go back and be satisfied with standard solutions.
Given the peculiarity of the painting line, we performed a pre-assembly at our headquarters in Volpiano to then assemble the line directly at the customer’s headquarters in North Carolina, USA, for processing on the American market.
The systems are designed to paint wood cutting tools such as cutters and drill bits and currently have a production rate of 720 pieces per hour.

The technological process of the painting line is composed as follows::
- Automatic loading of pieces.
- Liquid painting, primer / Spraying base coat.
- Desolvation / Flash-off.
- Liquid painting, finishing / Spraying top coat.
- Desolvation / Flash-off.
- Drying 150°C with electric heating batteries / Curing oven.
- Forced cooling to room temperature / Cooling.
- Automatic unloading of pieces.
Compared to the old system, we have provided a more rigid and reliable inverted floor conveyor and an electrostatic liquid painting system, the advantages of which are an increase in the efficiency of transferring the paint to the piece, with a consequent reduction in overspray.
