2026Energy finishing technologies: tailor-made solutions for large components Baker Hughes
Customer
Baker Hughes
Objective
- Design and install technologically advanced equipment for washing and blasting critical components such as valves and advanced industrial piping.
- Optimize resource management through total recovery systems for liquids and abrasives used in the process.
- Ensure maximum operational safety and speed when loading and unloading heavy and bulky artifacts.
Challenges
- Handle extremely heavy components whose manual handling is impractical, requiring the integration of in-house lifting systems.
- Ensure optimal operator visibility and a healthy working environment during high-pressure treatments and blasting.
- Customizing technical solutions to meet the ambitious challenges of the energy sector and heavy industry.
Impact
Efficiency and reliability: a strategic partnership for heavy industry
The installation curated by Eurotherm addresses Baker Hughes’ need to operate on large components with precision. The synergy between the two companies made it possible to develop solutions that do not compromise on surface treatment quality, while ensuring sustainability and operational continuity.
The installed solutions are distinguished by:
- Advanced integration with internal logistics through automatic opening systems.
- Filtration and recovery systems that reduce waste and environmental impact.
- Work environments optimized for employee safety.
Industrial washing
The industrial washing booth is designed to handle high-pressure operations with a specific focus on liquid handling by integrating power and active recovery. The process ensures flawless results by:
- Special chutes placed under the footing grid for total recovery of sprayed liquids.
- Advanced fricirculation systems that allow controlled reuse of resources without waste.
- A suction wall dedicated to capturing the liquid mist generated during the process.
- Two suction arms for delivering localized hot air, essential for speeding up drying of parts or treating specific areas of piping and piping components.
Industrial shot blasting
The second solution is a blasting booth configured for metal surface preparation and abrasive management. The applied technology makes it possible to keep the production environment clean through:
- Total under-grid recovery system that recovers and regenerates the abrasive for reuse.
- Extractor hoods connected to an external filter unit to remove dust in the work environment.
Optimized logistics
Each cabin is equipped with an automatic roof opening, this feature provides significant advantages for handling Baker Hughes products:
- Components are transferred directly via the overhead crane at the manufacturing plant.
- Placement of parts inside the booths occurs without successive steps, drastically reducing downtime.
- Reduction of critical safety issues of manual handling of heavy loads.
